A dental implant or implants are the treatment of choice to fill a gap, as it does not affect neighbouring teeth, and is a very stable long-term solution, provided;
- you are ‘suitable’ for implants, i.e. good bone levels and healthy gums
- you are committed to taking care of your implants, i.e. meticulous cleaning of your implants and regular hygienist visits
What is an implant?

Implant Treatments at Shelley Manor Dental
We can offer you the replacement of a single tooth with an implant or provide you with a full set of teeth permanently fixed on just 4 to 6 implants.
We can also provide implant-retained dentures; that is dentures that can attach firmly onto implants greatly improving stability, retention and comfort when compared to traditional dentures. This can make a huge difference to patients who have been struggling with loose ill-fitting dentures.
We are now offering free implant consultations with our visiting Implant Surgeon to our registered patients on Friday mornings. Call us on 01202 443882 to book an appointment. 0% Finance available to help spread the cost of your implant treatment over a longer period.
What is involved in having an implant?
The time frame from initial consultation to final implant crown fit should take approximately three months for a straightforward procedure. It is important to place the implant accurately so in planning your treatment we need to take a 3D scan prior to placement. If we find there has been some bone loss due to infection you will need to have some bone added and allow time for healing. This is a relatively simple procedure and well worth it to get the best results. Once the titanium implant is in position and has integrated with your bone we can then proceed to fit the new tooth to it, i.e. the visible implant crown.
